My Creative-Outlet Brand
Welcome to the corner of this site dedicated to “Kristi Stephenson Creations”, my brand where I showcase some of the things I make (and sell). As a science lover working in the fast-paced BioTech industry, I needed a creative outlet for that other side of my brain. Photography is one outlet (read more about that here), and crafting is another. I have always enjoyed making things with my hands, and have finally decided to venture into a hobby-business where I can showcase and sell some of my favorites. Enter Kristi Stephenson Creations. My focus is on copper and silver jewelry, and crafts from exotic woods.
Why these Elements?
I have always had a love for copper. Maybe growing up in Arizona was an influencing factor. Arizona is nicknamed as the “Copper State,” producing more copper than any other state in the union. I have always mixed copper in as an accent metal in our home decor. I dream of a hammered copper kitchen sink one day π (Did you know copper has natural disinfectant properties, making it a great metal to use in the kitchen?) As I branched into jewelry making, I decided to take copper as a core element in many of my pieces. My jewelry design style continues to evolve, but you will see that I focus mostly on simple, minimalist pieces. Pieces that highlight shapes, lines, textures, and some carefully chosen semi-precious stone accents.
I also really love exotic woods – all the colors, patterns, textures, and natural variation. I want to introduce more people to the beauty of these natural elements, so that is what I focus much of my wood-crafting on. For now, I am honing my pen-turning skills, and hope to expand to exotic-wood picture frames as well.
Here is a look at some of my recent designs.
